Set your thermostat at 78\u00b0 in summer, 5\u00b0 to 10\u00b0 higher when you leave the house. A five-degree shift can save you 6 – 8 percent per degree in the summer.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Run ceiling or table fans instead of lowering the air conditioning thermostat. Fans can help make you feel 2 to 3 degrees cooler. Turn them off when you leave the room.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Shade windows that receive direct sun light to help keep rooms cooler.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Change your air filter every month. A dirty air filter makes your A\/C system work harder, which uses more energy.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Water Conservation Tips<\/b> <\/p>\n Water leaks, especially in running toilets, are the No. 1 reason customers see their consumption increase.
