The Steve Miller Band<\/a> have canceled all remaining tour dates.<\/p>\n

That includes a concert at the Pool at Talking Stick Resort on the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community on Thursday, Oct. 23.<\/p>\n

The 81-year-old Rock & Roll Hall of Famer shared the news in a letter to fans on social media, easing into the reasons for canceling those shows with \u201cYou make music with your instincts. You live your life by your instincts. Always trust your instincts\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

What those instincts have told Miller is that this is not the best time to be on the road.<\/p>\n

“The combination of extreme heat, unpredictable flooding, tornadoes, hurricanes and massive forest fires make these risks for you our audience, the band and the crew unacceptable,” the letter went on to explain.<\/p>\n

“So … You can blame it on the weather. The tour is cancelled. Don\u2019t know where, don\u2019t know when \u2026 We hope to see you all again.\u201d<\/p>\n

The letter signed off with \u201cWishing you all Peace, Love and Happiness, Please take care of each other. Steve, The Band and the Crew.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cancelations lead to fans debating climate change in comments<\/p>\n

Reactions to the post on Instagram quickly turned, as you\u2019d expect, to a debate dividing Miller\u2019s fan base by political affiliation, some accusing Miller of advancing a \u201cclimate change is real\u201d agenda.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe’s obviously showing his support for the fake climate change …,\u201d one user argued.<\/p>\n

\u201cI like SM, but the thought of him caving to the climate change bs is a real bummer,\u201d another replied.<\/p>\n

To which a third fan fired back, \u201cHave you gone outside much? I refuse to believe your that big of (expletive) but with trump as your thumbnail, its probably true. If you think we always had month long stretches of 90s all summer, your fn slow.\u201d<\/p>\n

And so on\u2026<\/p>\n

What to do if you had tickets to Steve Miller Band in Phoenix<\/p>\n

Ticketmaster will issue a refund within 14-21 days.<\/p>\n

A note on Ticketmaster\u2019s website reads: \u201cUnfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event. You don’t need to do a thing. We’ll issue a refund to the original method of payment\u00a0used at time of purchase, as soon as funds are received from the Event Organizer. It should appear on your account within 14-21 days.\u201d<\/p>\n

If the tickets were transferred to you, the refund will go to the fan who originally purchased the tickets from Ticketmaster.<\/p>\n
