AUBURN, Ala.\u00a0 \u2014 <\/strong>The Auburn Board of Trustees gave final approval for the Jordan-Hare North Project during its April meetings Friday at the Auburn University Hotel & Conference Center. Construction will begin in the summer of 2026 with full completion set for spring of 2029.<\/p>\n

The largest and most significant capital project in Auburn Athletics and Jordan-Hare Stadium history, the Jordan-Hare North Project is a joint endeavor between the Auburn Athletics Department and the Division of Student Affairs.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This project represents a bold step forward for Auburn\u2014an investment designed to deliver impact every day of the year. Through its intentional, multi-use design, the facility will seamlessly serve both the student experience and football gamedays, maximizing value through shared, 365-day activation.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In addition to more than 3,000 new premium seating and club experiences, the Jordan-Hare North Project will expand campus dining options with the introduction of Shug\u2019s Food Hall \u2013 a modern food hall which will provide expanded food and beverage options in the heart of the Auburn campus \u2013 while serving as a concessions hub open to all Jordan-Hare Stadium ticket holders on football gamedays. The project will also feature versatile conference and event spaces, retail venues, student activity spaces, and meeting rooms.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Jordan-Hare North Project will benefit Auburn for generations, elevating the experience for all fans on football Saturdays while also enhancing the campus community year-round,\u201d Auburn Athletics Director John Cohen said. \u201cWe are extraordinarily grateful to the Board of Trustees for their final approval, and to President Roberts, Dr. Bobby Woodard and Auburn University for their partnership. We encourage Auburn people to enthusiastically support the \u2018Ever Auburn\u2019 campaign.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Jordan-Hare North Project includes significant enhancements for both premium ticket holders and non-premium ticket holders. Stadium-wide improvements include five new entry gates, 66 new concession points of sale, 13 elevators and 270 restroom fixtures. For the first time in stadium history, dedicated on-site concessions and premium kitchens will significantly improve speed, quality and overall efficiency on gameday.<\/p>\n

The sixth-floor terrace will create a fully connected concourse between the east and west upper decks, redefining the upper deck experience through improved circulation, access and comfort. The level will include expanded food and beverage service, additional restrooms, enhanced standing-room areas and improved vertical access. The terrace will also establish a dedicated home for one of Auburn\u2019s most cherished traditions \u2014 the Eagle Flight \u2014 creating a new focal point within the stadium experience.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis project represents a thoughtful investment in how Auburn brings people together, not only on gameday, but throughout the life of the university,\u201d said Dr. Christopher B. Roberts, president of Auburn University. \u201cAs a land-grant institution, we are called to create spaces that support learning, strengthen relationships and serve the broader community. The North End Zone addition and North Plaza will provide a central, welcoming place where students, faculty, alumni and visitors can gather for meaningful experiences that reflect the spirit of Auburn. These spaces will support everything from daily student engagement to major university milestones, all while enhancing connectivity across campus. We are building with purpose, ensuring that what we create today will continue to serve the Auburn Family well into the future.\u201d<\/p>\n

Once completed, the seven-level, 300,000-square-foot structure will add more than 3,000 new and expanded premium experiences, while maintaining Jordan-Hare Stadium’s existing capacity of more than 88,000 fans.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The renovations will introduce a variety of new premium seating types, including loge seating, patio suites and terrace seating. The project will feature more than 50 suites across three levels and introduce four new reserved seat club experiences to include the Tiger\u2019s Terrace, 1892 Club, 1892 Legacy Club, and Heisman Founder\u2019s Club. Two new access-pass club experiences will be introduced \u2013 the Kick Six Field Club and Pat\u2019s Place.<\/p>\n

\u201cAuburn creates an exceptional student experience by providing students the spaces, resources and opportunities they need to gather, connect and engage with each other,\u201d said Auburn Senior Vice President of Student Affairs Dr. Bobby Woodard said. \u201cBy dramatically expanding student life space in the heart of campus, we answer a growing demand for places where students can celebrate milestones, build community and take part in the traditions that shape Auburn.\u201d<\/p>\n

Positioned between Jordan-Hare Stadium and historic Petrie Hall, the new North Plaza will create a new front door to both the stadium and campus. Designed as a blend of green space, brick and hardscape, the plaza will provide an inviting place for students to gather, study and host events while enhancing gameday arrival, flow and energy. It will strengthen east-west campus connectivity, improve walkability and serve as the primary entry point to Shug\u2019s Food Hall.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy prioritizing adaptability, the project enables consistent, multi functional use throughout the calendar year,\u201d Auburn Board of Trustees Facility Committee Chair Zeke Smith<\/a> said, \u201cThe design encourages flexibility, durability and shared use, ensuring these spaces can support a wide range of academic, event and operational needs while strengthening the overall campus framework for decades to come.\u201d<\/p>\n

In September 2024, the Board of Trustees awarded initial approval of the Jordan-Hare Stadium north end zone multi-use facility project, and in February 2025 gave approval for the architect and construction manager. HOK Architects of Kansas City, Missouri, was selected as architects and Robins & Morton of Birmingham, Alabama, as construction manager. CDFL Architects + Engineers and Workshop Architects are serving as associate architects.<\/p>\n

“This is an unbelievable day for the Auburn Family. Jordan-Hare is the best gameday environment in the country, and this project is going to take that experience to a completely different level. It’s a great time to be an Auburn Tiger. War Eagle!”<\/p>\n

Phase 1 of the project was completed prior to the 2025 football season with the completion of the north end zone videoboard installation. The videoboard provided improvement to the gameday experience most notably for south end zone patrons, including the student section, giving them a clear view of the new videoboard.<\/p>\n

\u201cSpaces like this make it easier to show up, get involved and lead,\u201d Auburn University Student Government Association President Willis Orr said. \u201cCampus collaboration helped shape a project that reflects what students need, and adding spaces for meetings, events and organization programming creates more opportunities to participate and stay connected on campus.\u201d<\/p>\n

The introduction of this project also marks the public launch of a new fundraising campaign, \u201cEver Auburn,\u201d which began after initial board approval in 2024.<\/p>\n
