It\u2019s no secret to Chicagoans that our city is a top destination for coffee<\/strong>\u2014and now a global ranking confirms it!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Food & Wine has released its 2026 Global Tastemakers roundup, and named the Windy City among the top 5 U.S. metros<\/strong> for coffee.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s a look at the list<\/strong> and some of the best Chicago coffee shops<\/a><\/strong> mentioned in the roundup!<\/p>\n

Chicago named #4 Best City for Coffee<\/p>\n

Chicago claimed the number 4 spot<\/strong> on Food & Wine\u2019s roundup of Top 10 US Cities for Coffee.<\/p>\n

The publication notes the Windy City\u2019s rich coffeehouse history,<\/strong> dating back to 1918 with the historic Knickerbocker Coffee Shop<\/strong> serving as a community touchstone.<\/p>\n

Other time-honored local spots according to F&W include Intelligentsia<\/strong> and Metric Coffee, <\/strong>which have been serving Chicagans since the 90s and early 2010s respectively.<\/p>\n

F&W also recommends checking out Metric\u2019s new all-day cafe Milli,<\/strong> Croatian coffee and lunch spot Doma,<\/strong> and Palestinian coffee shop and bakery Oud.<\/strong><\/p>\n
