Christopher Sadowski<\/p>\n<p>BNY may approach Northern Trust in the future with a formal bid, however it may not result in a transaction, the report added.<\/p>\n<p>BNY has a market cap of $65.55 billion while Northern Trust has a market cap of $21.76 billion, according to LSEG.<\/p>\n<p>In May, BNY received a\u00a0license\u00a0to set up a regional headquarters in Saudi Arabia, joining other banks lured by incentives as the kingdom seeks to boost its appeal as a financial hub.<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.49707602;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"36317666\" width=\"883\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/GettyImages-818023894.jpg\" alt=\"Northern Trust bank\" class=\"wp-image-36317666\"  \/>BNY may approach Northern Trust in the future with a formal bid, according to the Wall Street Journal.
