Andrew Cuomo threw his hat back in the ring as an independent after losing the Dem primary race.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-bd34935e=\"\">Incumbent Mayor Eric Adams, who saw <a href=\"https:\/\/poll.qu.edu\/poll-release?releaseid=3920\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">record-low approval rating<\/a>s this year, and Republican Curtis Sliwa have insisted they would not drop out of the race, even as Mamdani critics urge them to do so. Antitrust lawyer Jim Walden is also in the race.<\/p>\n<p>  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/mayoral-4-box.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-v-0dea8073=\"\"\/>  <\/p>\n<p data-v-bd34935e=\"\">But what do polls say about who voters want to become the Big Apple&#8217;s next mayor?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p> Latest polls <\/p>\n<p data-v-bd34935e=\"\">A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.harrisx.com\/posts\/harrisx-nyc-poll-tight-race-emerges-in-nyc-mayoral-general-election-but-cuomo-stronger-than-adams-against-mamdani\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">July poll<\/a> by market research company HarrisX shows Mamdani leading a four-man race. The survey of 585 registered New York City voters has Mamdani with 26% of the vote, followed by Cuomo (23%), Sliwa (22%) and Adams (13%). Fifteen percent of responded said they are undecided.
