{"id":73828,"date":"2025-07-18T22:51:10","date_gmt":"2025-07-18T22:51:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/73828\/"},"modified":"2025-07-18T22:51:10","modified_gmt":"2025-07-18T22:51:10","slug":"north-bay-unemployment-increases-in-june","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/73828\/","title":{"rendered":"North Bay unemployment increases in June"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The highest rate of joblessness last month was in Lake County at 7.3%, while Napa County\u2019s rate of 4.2% was the lowest in the region.<\/p>\n<p>Unemployment rates across the North Bay rose in June after four straight months of lower rates, according to state figures released Friday.<\/p>\n<p>California\u2019s month-over-month rate was 5.4%, a slight increase from 5.3% in May, according to the state Employment Development Department.<\/p>\n<p>June\u2019s unemployment rates within the North Bay were lowest in Napa County, at 4.2%. Marin County followed at 4.5%, while Sonoma County\u2019s rate was 4.6%. Solano County\u2019s jobless rate last month was 5.6%. Mendocino County\u2019s rate was 5.8% and Lake County\u2019s rate was 7.3%, according to the EDD.<\/p>\n<p>Statewide, the largest job gains were in health care and social assistance. Month-over-month job gains also were strong in the leisure and hospitality sector.<\/p>\n<p>For the third consecutive month, the biggest decline in jobs was in the professional and business services sector, according to the state agency.<\/p>\n<p><strong id=\"strong\">Napa County<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The unemployment rate in Napa County was 4.2% in June, up from a revised 3.5% in May. The rate in June 2024 was 3.8%.<\/p>\n<p>The county added jobs in mining, logging and construction; trade, transportation and utilities; and leisure and hospitality. Fewer jobs were available in manufacturing.<\/p>\n<p><strong id=\"strong-587fda3381ac8f7f2301fc12a36fdc5c\">Marin County<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The unemployment rate in Marin County was 4.5% in June, up from a revised 3.6% in May. The rate in June 2024 was 4.1%.<\/p>\n<p>The county added jobs in construction; financial activities; leisure and hospitality; and government. Fewer jobs were available in trade, transportation and utilities, and professional and business services.<\/p>\n<p><strong id=\"strong-32d66ad1d1a01364131b45217857bce7\">Sonoma County<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The unemployment rate in Sonoma County was 4.6% in June, up from a revised 3.8% in May. The rate in June 2024 was 4.2%.<\/p>\n<p>The county added jobs in construction; trade, transportation and utilities; professional and business services; and leisure and hospitality. There was no decrease in jobs in other sectors.<\/p>\n<p><strong id=\"strong-85c2a979f32beb755071be71059fb085\">Solano County<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The unemployment rate in Solano County was 5.6% in June, up from a revised 4.7% in May. The rate in June 2024 was 5%.<\/p>\n<p>The county added jobs in construction; trade, transportation and utilities; and government. Fewer jobs were available in leisure and hospitality.<\/p>\n<p><strong id=\"strong-9554f542bf8696c9bf665cec337a52ef\">Mendocino County<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The jobless rate in Mendocino County was 5.8% in June, up from a revised 4.9% in May. The rate in June 2024 was 5.3%.<\/p>\n<p>The county added jobs in mining, logging and construction; trade, transportation, warehousing and utilities; retail; private education and health services; leisure and hospitality; and state government. Fewer jobs were available in professional and business services, and federal government.<\/p>\n<p><strong id=\"strong-3f8aac2d40e04ca34aed7eac0cd42062\">Lake County<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The jobless rate in Lake County was 7.3% in June, up from a revised 6.3% in May. The rate in June 2024 was 6.6%.<\/p>\n<p>The county added jobs in manufacturing; trade, transportation, warehousing and utilities; leisure and hospitality; and federal government.
