The incumbents in New York\u2019s competitive congressional districts are banking sizable campaign cash, more than a year out from the 2026 midterm elections.\u00a0<\/p>\n
New York was a critical battleground for control of the House last cycle. Democratic pickups in battleground districts across the state helped their party keep the margins close in the GOP-controlled U.S. House.\u00a0<\/p>\n
So far, few of the battleground incumbents have garnered notable challengers \u2013 with the exception of New York\u2019s 17th congressional district in the lower Hudson Valley. There, seven Democrats have launched bids to take on incumbent Republican Congressman Mike Lawler, who is now serving his second term.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The latest fundraising totals, including the quarter stretching from April to June, are below.<\/p>\n

Rep. Nick Lalota is currently serving his second term in the Suffolk County-centered district. Last fall, he bested Democratic challenger John Avlon by roughly 10 points. So far, he has drawn one Democratic challenger, Lukas Ventouras, who has raised only a few thousand dollars, according to their most recent filing.<\/p>\n
Nick LaLota (R)<\/a> \u2014 incumbent<\/p>\n NY-3<\/p>\n So far, no Republicans have formally filed to challenge Rep. Tom Suozzi. The moderate Democrat won this seat by roughly 3.5 points in 2024. Suozzi has more than $3 million in his coffer.<\/p>\n Tom Suozzi (D)<\/a> \u2014 incumbent<\/p>\n NY-4<\/p>\n Last year, Democrat Laura Gillen flipped this Nassau County district, beating incumbent Republican Congressman Anthony D\u2019Esposito. D\u2019Esposito has since been nominated by President Donald Trump to serve as Inspector General at the Department of Labor. Gillen starts the second half of 2025 with $1 million cash-on-hand.<\/p>\n Laura Gillen (D)<\/a> \u2014\u00a0incumbent<\/p>\n NY-17<\/p>\n Republican Congressman Mike Lawler, who represents a district in the lower Hudson Valley and is a prime Democratic target heading into next year\u2019s midterms, has drawn seven Democratic challengers in his reelection bid<\/a>. (Lawler is also publicly\u00a0toying with a bid for governor.) In the second quarter, he raised $1.4 million \u2014\u00a0more than any of those Democrats \u2014\u00a0and has $2.2 million cash on hand at the start of July. The Democrat with the largest quarter, Peter Chatzky, brought in nearly $700,000 \u2014 $500,000 of that came in the form of a loan from the candidate himself. He enters the second half of 2025 with more than $1.6 million cash-on-hand.<\/p>\n Pat Ryan (D)<\/a> \u2014\u00a0incumbent<\/p>\n NY-19<\/p>\n Freshman Democrat Josh Riley, who represents a district stretching from Ithaca to the Hudson Valley, had nearly $1.2 million cash on hand at the start of July. He flipped this seat with an electoral margin of 2 points in 2024.<\/p>\n\n
