Playwright Kimberly Belflower will adapt her work for the screen, while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/sadie-sink\/\" id=\"auto-tag_sadie-sink_1\" data-tag=\"sadie-sink\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sadie Sink<\/a>, who earned a Tony nomination for the show, will executive produce.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tJohn Proctor is the Villain\u00a0follows a group of high school girls in rural Georgia who are studying Arthur Miller\u2019s\u00a0The Crucible and create a feminism club as they try to make sense of the greater #MeToo movement and their own relationships with the men \u2014 classmates, teachers and fathers \u2014 in their small community. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cAt its core, Belflower has constructed a poignant story of girlhood and empowering friendships,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/lifestyle\/arts\/john-proctor-is-the-villain-review-sadie-sink-broadway-1236190543\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reads The Hollywood Reporter\u2019s review <\/a>of the play, which earned seven Tony nominations, including best play. The play, which has grossed over $10 million, will run through Aug. 31.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tFey and Eric Gurian will produce through their Uni-based Little Stranger, Inc. While Platt, who produced the studio\u2019s two-part Wicked movie series, will produce with Adam Siegel and Jared LeBoff via his Uni-based Marc Platt Productions. Svp production development and special projects Britt Hennemuth will oversee the project for the studio.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tFey is represented by WME, 3 Arts and Ziffren. Belflower, who is repped by WME, Untitled and Goodman Genow, is also behind plays Lost Girl\u00a0and Saint Pigtail.
