{"id":743006,"date":"2026-04-21T11:36:39","date_gmt":"2026-04-21T11:36:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/743006\/"},"modified":"2026-04-21T11:36:39","modified_gmt":"2026-04-21T11:36:39","slug":"alex-jones-has-shirtless-meltdown-as-the-onion-prepares-to-relaunch-infowars","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/743006\/","title":{"rendered":"Alex Jones Has Shirtless Meltdown as the Onion Prepares to Relaunch Infowars"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tSatirical news site <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/the-onion\/\" id=\"auto-tag_the-onion\" data-tag=\"the-onion\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Onion<\/a> says it has finally struck a deal to take over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/infowars\/\" id=\"auto-tag_infowars\" data-tag=\"infowars\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Infowars<\/a>, the right-wing conspiracy website run by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/alex-jones\/\" id=\"auto-tag_alex-jones\" data-tag=\"alex-jones\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alex Jones<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tBen Collins, CEO of The Onion announced the news on Monday. \u201cThis is the culmination of a two-year-long effort to get some justice for the Sandy Hook families,\u201d he posted on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/feed\/update\/urn:li:activity:7452069004803846144\/?originTrackingId=wDioCXM2HF8cUcYHlYvANQ%3D%3D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">LinkedIn<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tJones took to X to lament the news later on Monday, claiming The Onion was \u201cin deep shit\u201d and stating that he was \u201calready suing the Democratic party law firms\u201d and has \u201ccivil rights lawsuits.\u201d Appearing shirtless behind the Infowars desk, Jones alleged the satirical news site was planning to \u201cmisrepresent\u201d him in an attempt to \u201cconfuse people\u201d and defame him. \u201cJust became you\u2019re wearing my shirt, don\u2019t mean you\u2019re me,\u201d Jones said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe takeover was first discussed in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/politics\/politics-news\/alex-jones-infowars-the-onion-1235165651\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">September 2024<\/a> when The Onion bid $1.75 million for Infowars during a bankruptcy auction after families of Sandy Hook victims won a defamation suit against Jones and Infowars. A judge blocked the sale <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/culture\/culture-news\/the-onion-alex-jones-infowars-judge-ruling-1235200150\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">two months later<\/a>. Collins now says The Onion has solidified a deal  with Gregory Milligan, the court-appointed Infowars site manager.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tPer the terms, Global Tetrahedron, parent company of The Onion, will pay $81,000 a month for six months to license Inforwars.com and its associated intellectual property, as <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2026\/04\/20\/business\/infowars-alex-jones-the-onion.html\">The New York Times reports<\/a>. There is an option to renew for an additional six months. While the licensing deal has been reached between The Onion and the court-appointed manager, it still must be approved by Judge Maya Guerra Gamble in Texas\u2019 Travis County District Court, who is overseeing the disposition of Infowars. Plus, Jones could appeal the decision.
