{"id":74349,"date":"2025-07-19T03:24:14","date_gmt":"2025-07-19T03:24:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/74349\/"},"modified":"2025-07-19T03:24:14","modified_gmt":"2025-07-19T03:24:14","slug":"tottenham-hotspurs-transfer-stance-on-yoane-wissa-has-now-changed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/74349\/","title":{"rendered":"Tottenham Hotspur&#8217;s transfer stance on Yoane Wissa has now changed"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Journalist Tom Barclay has suggested that Tottenham\u2019s stance on Yoane Wissa has changed slightly following the developments over the last week and a half.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It emerged last Wednesday that <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.spurs-web.com\/spurs-news\/yoane-wissas-transfer-desire-revealed-as-tottenham-show-interest-in-brentford-star\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tottenham had turned their attention to Yoane Wissa<\/a>, who is thought to be keen on following Thomas Frank to Spurs.<\/p>\n<p>Immediately following that update, Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth claimed that <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.spurs-web.com\/spurs-news\/tottenham-are-about-to-take-a-big-step-in-yoane-wissa-negotiations-soon\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Spurs are getting ready to open talks with Brentford over Wissa<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>However, since then, it does not appear as if the Lilywhites have taken significant steps towards signing the striker, with the likes of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spurs-web.com\/spurs-news\/newcastle-united-to-challenge-tottenham-in-race-to-sign-a-thomas-frank-favourite\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Newcastle now stepping up their interest in Wissa<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"671\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/GettyImages-1344595081-1024x671.jpg\" alt=\"Tottenham target Yoane Wissa\" class=\"wp-image-348234\" \/>Photo by Julian Finney\/Getty ImagesYoane Wissa is now less of a priority for Tottenham<\/p>\n<p>Many <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spurs-web.com\/tag\/tottenham\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Spurs<\/a> fans might have assumed that the club\u2019s inaction in their pursuit of the Brentford star may be because <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spurs-web.com\/spurs-news\/tottenham-timeline-revealed-as-morgan-gibbs-white-transfer-efforts-step-up\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tottenham are focused on getting the Morgan Gibbs-White deal over the line<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>However, The Sun\u2019s Tom Barclay has now taken to social media to reveal that Wissa is now less of a priority for Spurs after they secured <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spurs-web.com\/tag\/mohammed-kudus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mohammed Kudus<\/a> from West Ham.<\/p>\n<p>The journalist pointed out that the Ghanaian can play centrally, and with Frank also having <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spurs-web.com\/spurs-news\/who-is-mathys-tel-everything-about-the-bayern-munich-striker-linked-with-tottenham-transfer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mathys Tel<\/a>, Dominic Solanke and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spurs-web.com\/spurs-news\/richarlison-tottenham-hotspur\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Richarlison<\/a> at his disposal, the Bees star is no longer as pressing a need for the Danish coach.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Understand Tottenham are still interested in Yoane Wissa, but the signing of the versatile Mohammed Kudus, who is capable of playing centrally in attack, as can Richarlison, Tel and obvs Solanke, means the signing of the Brentford man is less of a priority than it was before<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Tom Barclay (@TomBarclay_) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TomBarclay_\/status\/1945817554041115011?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">July 17, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>View Tweet<\/p>\n<p> Why Spurs may need Wissa despite landing Mohammed Kudus<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spurs-web.com\/spurs-news\/who-is-thomas-frank-meet-tottenham-hotspur-new-head-coach\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Frank<\/a> does have an abundance of options for the number nine role, but that may soon change.<\/p>\n<p>Over the last 24 hours, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.spurs-web.com\/spurs-news\/club-world-cup-could-work-in-tottenhams-favour-amid-55m-talks-with-club-president\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Palmerias have stepped up their efforts to land Richarlison<\/a>, and the Brazilian side are hopeful that they can get a deal done for the Spurs striker.<\/p>\n<p>If the former Everton man leaves, one would not be surprised if Frank asks for another centre-forward to be signed, given that he needs a large squad to cope with the demands of Champions League football.<\/p>\n<p>       Have something to tell us about this article?
