{"id":743798,"date":"2026-04-21T20:44:15","date_gmt":"2026-04-21T20:44:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/743798\/"},"modified":"2026-04-21T20:44:15","modified_gmt":"2026-04-21T20:44:15","slug":"ride-metro-and-metrolink-for-free-on-earth-day-nbc-los-angeles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/743798\/","title":{"rendered":"Ride Metro and Metrolink for free on Earth Day \u2013 NBC Los Angeles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>What to Know<\/p>\n<ul class=\"what-to-know__list\">\n<li class=\"what-to-know__item\">Earth Day is April 22<\/li>\n<li class=\"what-to-know__item\">Metro buses and rail, along with Micro and @bikemetro, will be free from 3 a.m. Wednesday, April 22 through Thursday, April 23 <\/li>\n<li class=\"what-to-know__item\">Metrolink is going &#8220;fare-free&#8221; Wednesday, April 22 (note that San Diego MTS buses and trolley will not be fare-free)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>While Metro and Metrolink aren&#8217;t covered in festive decorations at various points in the year, you can often sense what the occasion or holiday is by what&#8217;s happening on the trains.<\/p>\n<p>If Metro-riding fans sporting Dodger regalia are out and about in play-ball splendor, chances are good that it might be Opening Day or another spring or summer game at Dodger Stadium. If Santa is waving from a Metrolink platform, you might be boarding one of the service&#8217;s special holiday adventures in December.<\/p>\n<p>And if both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/metrolosangeles\/reel\/DXXmUhokiHG\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Metro <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DXZc4C-lOOo\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Metrolink<\/a> are waiving fares at the same time, and flowers along the tracks are blooming and the air is April-sweet, it just might be Earth Day.<\/p>\n<p>Earth Day is a celebratory moment for both services, and for the thousands of riders who are enjoying a complimentary trip or two. And on Wednesday, April 22 both Metro and Metrolink will waive fare for all riders to spotlight the eco-focused holiday.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;No fare will be collected&#8221; on Metro&#8217;s buses and trains from 3 a.m. April 22 to 3 a.m. April 23; Metro Micro and @bikemetro will also offer pay-nothing trips.<\/p>\n<p>If you do choose to go Micro, you&#8217;ll want to special code: It&#8217;s EARTHDAY26.<\/p>\n<p>Metrolink, the regional passenger service, will also be free April 22, with a rousing call to come ride: &#8220;If you&#8217;ve been looking for an excuse to explore SoCal without touching your gas pedal, Wednesday is your day.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;No ticket.
