{"id":746025,"date":"2026-04-22T19:50:31","date_gmt":"2026-04-22T19:50:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/746025\/"},"modified":"2026-04-22T19:50:31","modified_gmt":"2026-04-22T19:50:31","slug":"android-users-see-severe-battery-drain-after-latest-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/746025\/","title":{"rendered":"Android users see &#8216;severe&#8217; battery drain after latest update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Android users <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/GooglePixel\/comments\/1srp39u\/pixel_phones_hit_with_battery_drain_issue_google\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">are experiencing<\/a> severe drainage in their phones after a recent update, and Google is reportedly looking into it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFollowing the rollout of the April 2026 update on Google Pixel phones, a widespread battery drain issue has hit, but the company is looking into the matter,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5google.com\/2026\/04\/21\/pixel-phones-hit-with-battery-drain-issue-google-investigating\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">9to5Google reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The number of users complaining about the \u201csevere idle drain\u201d issue has been quickly increasing on <a href=\"https:\/\/issuetracker.google.com\/issues\/502262230\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Google\u2019s issue tracking site<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of reporting, over 2500 people voted on the tracker that they\u2019ve been impacted by the issue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe sheer amount of attention on this thread tells us this issue is pretty widespread,\u201d 9to5Google wrote, noting that there were also reports of the issue <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/pixel_phones\/comments\/1rtm299\/new_update_battery_drain\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">on Reddit<\/a> and other forums.<\/p>\n<p>As of now, there is no fix, but Google has asked forum users to provide the company with more information.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat\u2019s more concerning is that it doesn\u2019t seem limited to a specific device,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.androidcentral.com\/phones\/google-pixel\/pixel-phones-are-seeing-unusual-battery-drain-after-the-april-2026-update\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Android Central noted<\/a>. \u201cUsers across multiple generations, from the Pixel 6 series all the way up to the Pixel 10 lineup, are reporting similar battery drain issues.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>One person said on the Issue Tracker that their \u201cbattery now no longer lasts a full day,\u201d while another wrote that it\u2019s happening on their phone and they \u201calready had the battery replaced.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis bug has made me quite literally want to cry bc I\u2019m kinda nomading it in the city and having my lifeline die after seriously 2 hours of continuous use is crazy,\u201d someone else wrote.<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.49926794;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"39164903\" width=\"885\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/close-up-google-pixel-9-126164848.jpg\" alt=\"Close-up of the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL in Hazel Green, focusing on its triple camera, held in hand.\" class=\"wp-image-39164903\"  \/>Over 2500 people voted on Google\u2019s Issue Tracker that they\u2019ve been impacted by the issue. Tada Images \u2013 stock.adobe.com<\/p>\n<p>Others have shared that they noticed the battery drain even when their phone is on airplane mode, while battery life has lasted for just a few hours of screen time, or even been cut in half for some.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy phone has definitely been draining way faster and running really hot in my pocket. I went to bed with my phone at 65 percent to waking up in the morning at 6 percent.
