HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (WBTV) – Two snakes \u2014 a copperhead and a rat snake \u2014 were found this week near homes in Huntersville.<\/p>\n

The Huntersville Police Department shared photos<\/a> on Tuesday, April 21, showing an animal services technician safely securing the snakes before relocating them. The photos are at the bottom of this article.<\/b><\/p>\n

Both calls came in on the same day. Officers noted that as temperatures warm, residents may begin seeing more wildlife in their neighborhoods.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese animals are a natural and important part of our community,\u201d a spokesperson wrote. \u201cWith a little awareness and respect, we can safely coexist and give them the space they need.\u201d<\/p>\n

Officials encouraged anyone with concerns or anyone who may need help from Animal Services technicians to call CharMeck 311.<\/p>\n
