However, <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/top-rock-songs-list\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Ultimate Classic Rock;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">Ultimate Classic Rock<\/a> did just that and recently released a list of the 100 best rock songs of all time.<\/p>\n<p>The ranking, published on April 22, featured classics like <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/parade.com\/news\/fleetwood-mac-legend-stevie-nicks-77-goes-casual-and-curly\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Fleetwood Mac;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">Fleetwood Mac<\/a><\/strong>&#8216;s 1977 hit, &#8220;Dreams,&#8221; <strong>David Bowie<\/strong>&#8216;s &#8220;Heroes&#8221; from 1977, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/parade.com\/news\/1975-hit-greatest-song-from-pink-floyd\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Pink Floyd;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">Pink Floyd<\/a><\/strong>&#8216;s 1975 &#8220;Wish You Were Here,&#8221; the 1986 song, &#8220;Livin&#8217; on a Prayer&#8221; by <strong>Bon Jovi, Prince and the Revolution<\/strong>&#8216;s 1986 &#8220;Kiss,&#8221; &#8220;Purple Haze&#8221; by <strong>The Jimi Hendrix Experience <\/strong>from 1967, <strong>Queen<\/strong>&#8216;s 1975 &#8220;Bohemian Rhapsody,&#8221; <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/parade.com\/entertainment\/1971-stairway-to-heaven-greatest-rock-song-led-zeppelin-anthem\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Led Zeppelin;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">Led Zeppelin<\/a><\/strong>&#8216;s &#8220;Kashmir&#8221; from 1975, 1980&#8217;s &#8220;Once in a Lifetime&#8221;by <strong>Talking Heads<\/strong>, and <strong>Nirvana<\/strong>&#8216;s &#8220;Smells Like Teen Spirit,&#8221; released in 1991.<\/p>\n<p>Ultimate Classic Rock&#8217;s top five songs included <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/parade.com\/news\/bruce-springsteen-makes-bold-political-statement-at-music-festival\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Bruce Springsteen;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">Bruce Springsteen<\/a><\/strong>&#8216;s &#8220;Born to Run&#8221; from 1975, The Beatles&#8217; 1967 classic &#8220;A Day in the Life,&#8221; <strong>Bob Dylan<\/strong>&#8216;s &#8220;Like A Rolling Stone&#8221; from 1965, and 1971&#8217;s &#8220;Stairway to Heaven&#8221; by Led Zeppelin.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Beatles<\/strong>&#8216; 1967 hit single &#8220;Strawberry Fields Forever&#8221; took home the title of the best rock song ever released. Ultimate Classic Rock reported that the song deserved the list&#8217;s top spot because of its unique production and how much it has influenced the rock genre.<\/p>\n<p>John Lennon &amp; Paul McCartney Shared Details About the Song<\/p>\n<p>The official <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@thebeatles\/video\/7322460107319627041\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Beatles TikTok account;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">Beatles TikTok account<\/a> shared a video of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/parade.com\/1299046\/kaigreen\/john-lennon-quotes\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:John Lennon;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">John Lennon<\/a><\/strong> discussing writing &#8220;Strawberry Fields Forever.&#8221; He shared that he began writing the song while in Spain during the production of the 1967 film, How I Won the War, wherein he played the character Gripweed. Lennon, who died in 1980 at the age of 40, said it was a relatively long process to come up with the iconic tune.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It took me a long time to write it. I was writing bits and bits and bits,&#8221; recalled the musician.<\/p>\n<p>He also shared that he &#8220;just wanted the lyrics to be like conversational.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I just wanted it to be like we&#8217;re talking and then I just happen to be singing, you know like that. According to McCartney, he would visit the real Strawberry Fields with Lennon.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was just his little garden to play in.
