(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.wbrc.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">WBRC<\/a>) &#8211; New <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wbrc.com\/2026\/02\/21\/reports-phil-spencer-stepping-down-head-microsoft-gaming-new-xbox-boss-named\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wbrc.com\/2026\/02\/21\/reports-phil-spencer-stepping-down-head-microsoft-gaming-new-xbox-boss-named\/\"><b>Xbox CEO Asha Sharma<\/b><\/a> and Executive Vice President Matt Booty are continuing to overhaul the gaming giant.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\">After reversing course last week on the monthly price of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wbrc.com\/2026\/04\/22\/xbox-drops-price-game-pass-ultimate-theres-catch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wbrc.com\/2026\/04\/22\/xbox-drops-price-game-pass-ultimate-theres-catch\/\"><b>Xbox Game Pass Ultimate service<\/b><\/a>, the company is going even further to update its identity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\">In this case, however, moving forward means going back the company\u2019s roots.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\">After changing the gaming division\u2019s name from Xbox to Microsoft Gaming in 2022, Sharma wants Xbox to be the <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\">\u201c\u2018Microsoft\u00a0Gaming\u2019 describes our structure but it does not describe our ambition,\u201d Sharm wrote in an open letter to Xbox staff.\u00a0\u201dSo, we are going back to where we started and changing our team\u2019s\u00a0name. We are Xbox&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\">The company also unveiled a new logo Thursday, leaving behind the minimalist white design that\u2019s been the identifier for the brand since the launch of the Xbox Series X|S.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\">The new logo returns the company to the trademark green that has been associated with Xbox since it\u2019s launch in 2001.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\">As part of the company\u2019s long-term plan, Sharma and Booty laid out what they want the company to be going forward while acknowledging Xbox is a \u201cchallenger.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-start\">\u201cXbox\u00a0will be\u00a0built to be affordable, personal, and open,\u201d they said. \u201cWe\u00a0will\u00a0offer flexible pricing so\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0easy to get started and keep playing.
