Wells Drive in the Loop just after 4:45 a.m.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"zZygg UbGlr iFzkS qdXbA WCDhQ DbOXS tqUtK GpWVU iJYzE \" data-testid=\"prism-linkbase\" href=\"https:\/\/abc7chicago.com\/watch\/live\/11064984\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24\/7. Click here to watch<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Investigators believe the driver of a black Jeep SUV failed to obey a traffic signal on westbound Ida B. Wells Drive and crashed into the officers&#8217; marked squad car, which was heading southbound on Wabash Avenue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Police said the SUV&#8217;s driver, a 26-year-old man, tried to flee the scene on foot, but police apprehended him and took him into custody. He was taken to Northwestern Hospital in good condition with a cut to the head.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Two other people were inside the SUV. A 26-year-old woman, who suffered minor injuries, was taken to the same hospital in good condition, police said.
