KINGSTON, N.Y. \u2014 Moonrise Bagels founders Jeremy Rhodes and Ali Chetkof spent Saturday morning serving Kingston customers their ever-popular stuffed bagels for the last time.<\/p>\n
The 100-square-foot pop-up shop at 746 Broadway next to Night Swim has been a Midtown favorite since it opened in October 2024<\/a>. Chetkof and Rhodes announced its closure earlier this month<\/a> as the business streamlines operations and focuses on its locations in Woodstock, Poughkeepsie, and New York City.<\/p>\n Starting as a side hustle for Chetkof and Rhodes, the business first opened in Woodstock in 2021<\/a>. The Poughkeepsie location opened in July 2024, and the duo opened their new location in Greenwich Village in December 2025. Moonrise\u2019s stuffed bagels, which come in traditional breakfast flavors like bacon, egg, and cheese and sausage, egg, and cheese as well as creative flavors like pizza and Philly cheesesteak, are also shipped and sold across the United States and Canada on the online shopping platform Goldbelly.<\/p>\n The Kingston pop-up premiered Moonrise\u2019s \u201cjust the stuffed\u201d philosophy as the business shifts its focus towards selling only the stuffed bagels at all of its locations. The Woodstock location, the last to make the transition, is expected to fully shift over to only stuffed bagels in May.<\/p>\n Along with the transition to just stuffed bagels, the Woodstock location is also undergoing some interior renovations and is expected to debut a full espresso bar in May.<\/p>\n On Saturday, April 25, the pop-up opened from 8 a.m. to noon to offer locals a chance to part ways with the creative bagels and give their well-wishes to Rhodes and Chetkof. The last day\u2019s menu offered a selection of just Moonrise\u2019s breakfast options: bacon, egg, and cheese, egg and cheese, sausage, egg, and cheese, and vegan sausage, egg, and cheese.<\/p>\n By 10:30 a.m. Saturday, the pop-up had already sold out of its bacon, egg, and cheese offerings. Speaking with the Freeman, Rhodes and Chetkof said around 40 customers had already come by to bid adieu to the pop-up.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m very sentimental,\u201d Chetkof said. \u201cWe love this little space.\u201d<\/p>\n Chetkof said she was grateful for how much the Kingston community supported the business.<\/p>\n \u201cWe love the Kingston community, we\u2019re sad to leave, too,\u201d Chetkof said. \u201cWe\u2019re excited for all the changes in Woodstock, and we hope that they keep supporting us there.\u201d<\/p>\n Moonrise Bagels can still be found in the Mid-Hudson region at its Woodstock location at 68 Tinker St. and in Poughkeepsie at 26 Winslow Gate Road.
