{"id":756684,"date":"2026-04-27T13:31:17","date_gmt":"2026-04-27T13:31:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/756684\/"},"modified":"2026-04-27T13:31:17","modified_gmt":"2026-04-27T13:31:17","slug":"geese-bassist-dominic-digesu-throws-first-pitch-at-mets-game","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/756684\/","title":{"rendered":"Geese Bassist Dominic DiGesu Throws First Pitch at Mets Game"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>DiGesu, who often displays his Mets fandom onstage and in photo shoots, took the mound with his bandmates before a Sunday game<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/geese\/\" id=\"auto-tag_geese\" data-tag=\"geese\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Geese<\/a> bassist and avowed Mets fan Dominic DiGesu took the mound at Citi Field on Sunday afternoon to throw the ceremonial first pitch before New York\u2019s game against the Colorado Rockies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tJoined by bandmates Cameron Winter, Max Bassin, and Emily Green \u2014 all of them in custom Mets jerseys with their last names and the numbers 4 or 20 \u2014 DiGesu made an accurate throw that suggests he could have a decent career ahead of him at the high-A level if being the bassist in one of the best and coolest rock bands in years doesn\u2019t pan out.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cWe had a surprise visit from Mr. Met at our most recent New York show and he made it clear that he was a fan, and that if we wanted to work together in the future on something that [the team] was down to do something,\u201d DiGesu <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/gothamist.com\/arts-entertainment\/geeses-dominic-digesu-a-lifelong-mets-fan-on-throwing-the-first-pitch-at-citi-field\" target=\"_blank\">told WNYC<\/a> this week. \u201cI immediately was like, \u2018Oh, my God!\u2019 It\u2019s always been an idea of mine to have Geese throw out the first pitch. I\u2019ve wanted to do that my whole life, ever since I was a kid.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tLike the rest of his bandmates in the Brooklyn-based band, DiGesu is a big Mets fan, often wearing the team\u2019s blue-and-orange attire in photo shoots (including <a data-id=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/geese-interview-nyc-rock-band-new-album-1235413964\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/geese-interview-nyc-rock-band-new-album-1235413964\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">one for Rolling Stone<\/a> last year) and onstage. In a 2025 interview with <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.interviewmagazine.com\/music\/stepping-up-to-the-plate-with-geese\" target=\"_blank\">Interview Magazine<\/a>, the members of Geese attended a Mets game, and DiGesu let his fandom fly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIf the Mets could win a World Series for the first time since 1986, he said, \u201cIt would mean a lot to me. I\u2019ve never been alive to witness such a phenomenon,\u201d he said.
