Located in Parkchester on 1498 Metropolitan Avenue, Wonder is centered around 20+ different cuisines under one roof, including Mexican, Texas barbecue, Italian, Thai, budget-friendly bowls and more.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cWe started in New York City and so we wanted to make sure that we were in every borough,\u201d said Stephanie Brown, who leads Government and Cultural Affairs for Wonder. \u201cSo we\u2019re really excited to be in the Bronx, and this is now rounding out our five boroughs.\u201d<\/p>\n The event included a ribbon cutting right outside the establishment, and free goodies to the first 100 guests, which included a tote bag and a hat. Guests were in line since 10 a.m., in hopes of getting free Wonder swag.<\/p>\n Notable guests included Senator Nathalia Fernandez and Assemblywoman Karines Reyes.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cI think it\u2019s important, particularly for this business corridor, to have vibrant businesses that people can walk to, that are providing a service to the community,\u201d Assemblywomen Reyes said. <\/p>\n \u201cEspecially because oftentimes food establishments are the ones that do best in the area. So to have something that has so much variety and it\u2019s such a different concept, to have it here in the Bronx, in the heart of Parkchester, is a point of pride.\u201d<\/p>\n The opening of Wonder has provided many jobs for the community, even hiring people who live across the street, according to General Manager Chef Mari.<\/p>\n \u201cWe do have a very diverse community here,\u201d said Chef Mari. \u201cSo a little bit of Mediterranean, a little Indian, a little Thai, whatever you want to eat.
