{"id":760049,"date":"2026-04-28T23:38:13","date_gmt":"2026-04-28T23:38:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/760049\/"},"modified":"2026-04-28T23:38:13","modified_gmt":"2026-04-28T23:38:13","slug":"100000-gallons-of-wastewater-spilled-from-collapsed-northeast-side-sewer-saws-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/760049\/","title":{"rendered":"100,000+ gallons of wastewater spilled from collapsed Northeast Side sewer, SAWS says"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\"><strong>BEXAR COUNTY, Texas<\/strong> \u2013 A Northeast Side sewer collapsed on Tuesday, causing a wastewater spill and prompting the San Antonio Water System to respond.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">SAWS reported a spill estimated at more than 100,000 gallons of water at 2:40 p.m. in the 5900 block of Bicentennial Drive East of Highway Interstate 10.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The spill was caused by a 24-inch collapsed sewer main due to recent heavy rain, according to a SAWS news release.
