With the cost of buying a home so high in New York state, a lot of families are opting to move into manufactured homes. But over the last few years, long-term residents of these communities have reported harassment, deteriorating infrastructure, illegal rent increases and unsafe conditions.\u00a0<\/p>\n

State Attorney General Letitia James will be holding a community hearing this Saturday for residents of manufactured homes, both to hear their stories, and to ensure they know their rights.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

It’s called \u201cProtecting Manufactured Home Residents: A Community Hearing and Resource Fair.” It will take place this Saturday, May 2, at SUNY Empire State University in Saratoga. Click here for more information.<\/a><\/p>\n

James spoke with Capital Tonight\u2019s Susan Arbetter about the rights that manufactured homeowners have as well as a bill she\u2019s advocating for\u00a0that would ban surveillance pricing.<\/a><\/p>\n
