The Tempe Chamber of Commerce held the 2026 Leadership Conference at the Buttes, a Marriott Resort, emceed by veteran Valley reporter Jody Jackson.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The event, which featured the 2026 Business Woman of the Year Award, brought together over 250 of the Valley\u2019s business stakeholders and professionals. The annual event encourages participants to exchange ideas, learn best practices and collaborate on creating initiatives that foster professional growth and enhance leadership skills.<\/p>\n
The Fireside Chat of the night brought Jody Jackson together with Jenna Ghisolfo, the reigning United States of America\u2019s Mrs. Arizona and President\/CEO of Housing Consultants of America.\u00a0 Ghisolfo, a domestic violence survivor, told her story of courage and faith, transforming her life into purpose, leading a national effort to strengthen affordable housing.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a powerful day focused on connection, learning, and growth.\u00a0 Bringing together people from diverse industries to exchange ideas, share experiences, and support one another is what makes our work meaningful.\u00a0 That is how, together, we build the best version of Tempe,” said Robin Arredondo-Savage, President and CEO of the Tempe Chamber.<\/p>\n

The Women in Business Council\u2019s Mentor Program also acknowledged it\u2019s graduating mentees and mentors with certificates and accolades.<\/p>\n
The event culminated with the anticipated crowning of the 2026 Businesswoman of the Year.\u00a0 The Tempe Chamber first established this award in 1996 to recognize an outstanding businesswoman in the community who demonstrates leadership, excellence and community involvement in the course of her business activities.<\/p>\n
The 2026 honor was awarded to Carly Schorman, president of Homecoming Inc. and Starlight Memorial Park.\u00a0 Schorman has masterfully developed the venue into a vibrant community hub, hosting a variety of public events such as live music performances, curated art shows and more.<\/p>\n
In addition to her work with Starlight, she serves as president of Homecoming Inc. and previously chaired the Women in Business Council. A published novelist, Schorman has also contributed to numerous publications and podcasts.
