King\u00a0Charles III<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Queen Camilla<\/a>\u00a0are making their first-ever\u00a0state visit<\/a>\u00a0to the U.S., visiting Washington, D.C., New York\u00a0City\u00a0and Virginia.<\/p>\n

The royals\u2019 visit\u00a0comes\u00a0amid significant\u00a0strains<\/a>\u00a0between the U.K. and the U.S. over the war in Iran.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0also happening under the\u00a0shadow of Charles’ brother\u00a0Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s<\/a>\u00a0connection to the\u00a0ongoing\u00a0Epstein scandal<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The king and queen were feted at the White House on Tuesday with a traditional military arrival ceremony. Charles later delivered a rare joint address to\u00a0Congress, where he emphasized the historic partnership between the U.S. and U.K. and praised NATO.<\/p>\n

Charles, Camilla to attend packed day of events in New York City<\/b><\/p>\n

Charles and Camilla are heading to New York City Wednesday for a full day of events on the third day of their closely watched state visit<\/a> to the United States.<\/p>\n

The royal couple\u2019s first stop will be the National 9\/11 Memorial, where they will meet with families of Sept. 11, 2001, victims and first responders, as well as elected officials including New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul and New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill.<\/p>\n

From there, the king will visit an after-school urban farming program while the queen holds a reading reception at the New York Public Library.<\/p>\n

Later in the day, Charles will attend a trade and business leader event followed by a King’s Trust reception in the evening to highlight the U.K.\u2019s cultural impact on New York, according to Buckingham Palace.<\/p>\n

Charles and Camilla will return to Washington D.C., Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

King Charles, Trump share quips, tout US-UK relationship at state dinner<\/b><\/p>\n

President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump welcomed King Charles III and Queen Camilla back to the White House Tuesday evening for a state dinner in the East Room.<\/p>\n

Trump opened the dinner by lavishing praise on the royal and joking about the bipartisan reception King Charles III received during his address to Congress earlier Tuesday.<\/p>\n

King Charles III began his toast by reflecting on the shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner on Saturday, “paying tribute to your own courage and steadfastness, as well as to your security services for their swift actions on Saturday evening in preventing further injury,” the king told Trump. “My thoughts and sympathies are very much with you, the first lady and all those guests for whom this must have been a very upsetting incident.”<\/p>\n

There were light-hearted moments in the king’s toast as well.<\/p>\n

The king referenced Trump’s decision to tear down the East Wing to build a White House ballroom, making a joke referencing the burning down of the White House during the War of 1812.<\/p>\n

“On this occasion, I cannot help noticing the readjustments to the East Wing, Mr. President, following your visit to Windsor Castle last year,” the king said. “And I’m sorry to say that we British, of course, made our own small attempt at real estate redevelopment of the White House in 1814.”<\/p>\n

Here’s who’s on the guest list for state dinner<\/b><\/p>\n

Supreme Court justices, CEOs and a golf champion are all on the list of attendees for Tuesday’s state dinner honoring King Charles III.<\/p>\n

Chief Justice John Roberts and his wife will be in attendance, as well as Supreme Court Justices Samuel Alito, Amy Coney Barrett, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh and Clarence Thomas, according to the list shared by the first lady’s office.<\/p>\n

The list also includes pro golfer and Master’s winner Rory McIlroy and his wife, as well as Apple CEO Tim Cook, Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff and Paramount Skydance CEO David Ellison. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang is also on the list.<\/p>\n

Several Fox News employees are also attending, including Bret Baier and his wife, Laura Ingraham, Jesse Watters and Rachel Campos Duffy. <\/p>\n

King Charles III and Queen Camilla arrived at the White House on Tuesday evening for a state dinner hosted by President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump.<\/p>\n

The evening’s entertainment is set to include musicians from the Marines, Army and Air Force, according to the White House.<\/p>\n

King receives bipartisan applause during speech with no outbursts<\/b><\/p>\n

The House chamber remained at capacity throughout the king\u2019s remarks. It was not apparent that any lawmakers walked out of the address in protest and there were no protests or outbursts.<\/p>\n

Several times, Charles was met with bipartisan praise — including when he spoke of checks and balances on executive power and when he called for peace in Ukraine.<\/p>\n

The king departed the chamber and shook hands with military officials, retired Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, lawmakers on both sides of the aisle — including Senate leaders John Thune and Chuck Schumer — and other rank-and-file House members.<\/p>\n

King urges cooperation amid strained UK-US relationship<\/b><\/p>\n

Amid tensions between the U.S. and U.K. over the war in Iran and other diplomatic issues, King Charles urged cooperation between the two countries.<\/p>\n

“The story of the United Kingdom and the United States is, at its heart, a story of reconciliation, renewal and remarkable partnership,” he said. “From the bitter divisions of 250 years ago, we forged a friendship that has grown into one of the most consequential alliances in human history.<\/p>\n

“I pray with all my heart that our alliance will continue to defend our shared values with our partners in Europe and the commonwealth and across the world, and that we ignore the clarion calls to become ever more inward-looking,” he said.<\/p>\n

Charles emphasizes importance of NATO<\/b><\/p>\n

King Charles emphasized the importance of the NATO alliance as he spoke about how the U.K. answered the call after the terror attacks against the U.S. on Sept. 11, 2001.<\/p>\n

“Today, Mr. Speaker, that same unyielding resolve is needed for the defense of Ukraine and her most courageous people,” Charles said. “It is needed in order to secure a truly just and lasting peace from the depths of the Atlantic to the disastrously melting icecaps of the Arctic.”<\/p>\n

It’s something that we don’t see often in a divided Congress: a packed chamber, full of laughter, unity and standing ovations.<\/p>\n

The laughter in the chamber is echoing off the walls. The king has had to stop a few times to allow for more laughter and applause.<\/p>\n

Democrats and Republicans are listening attentively — more than they do with a president even from their own party.<\/p>\n

Loud applause after Charles’ comments on checks to executive power<\/b><\/p>\n

King Charles, speaking on American independence, said the founding fathers brought with them some ideals rooted in British common law — including the Magna Carta.<\/p>\n

“The U.S. Supreme Court Historical Society has calculated that Magna Carta is cited in at least 160 Supreme Court cases since 1789, not least as the foundation of the principle that executive power is subject to checks and balances,” he said.<\/p>\n

The remark was met with loud applause from the chamber.<\/p>\n

Charles on WHCA dinner shooting: ‘Acts of violence will never succeed’<\/b><\/p>\n

King Charles decried acts of violence as he briefly mentioned the shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner on Saturday night. <\/p>\n

“We meet, too, in the aftermath of the incident not far from this great building that sought to harm the leadership of your nation and to foment wider fear and discord. Let me say with unshakable resolve, such acts of violence will never succeed,” he said.<\/p>\n
