Our business is to serve great beer, food, and other alcoholic beverages to ADULTS,&#8217; Demagall explained in a statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">&#8216;Quite frankly, kids were never a part of our business plan or vibe. Our staff are not equipped to monitor or babysit kids whose parents treat the brewery like a playground.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Upset parents quickly took to the comment section to condemn the brewery for their decision.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">One commenter said: &#8216;This is really disappointing &#8211; kids and parents deserve to be in community spaces.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Another noted: &#8216;There are already so few eating and drinking establishments in Cleveland to go to with our son \u2026 Huge bummer that now there&#8217;s one less place for us to go (and spend our money).&#8217;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">But the brewery is not alone in its concerns.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\"><a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.proclamationaleco.com\/\">Proclamation Ale Company<\/a> in Warwick, Rhode Island had similar issues with families at their business in September 2024. They posted a gentle reminder to parents on their <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Proclamationale\/posts\/pfbid02Tgq5NXsStknvbE1aZ6J1AfEQEUqZ3BmseuxUNnF5rX4Lwz1KHXTR5N8v15y9qUmHl\">Facebook page\u00a0<\/a>encouraging them to watch over their kids while enjoying the brewery.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">\u00a0&#8216;Look, we love your kids, but sometimes they can be, well\u2026 kids,&#8217; they wrote.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">&#8216;This is your gentle reminder that when you bring yours to the taproom, our staff and our games are not meant to be their babysitters.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">&#8216;We ask that you supervise and be near your kids at all times and do not allow them to run around the taproom or yell loudly. Not sure how this is any different.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">In Norton, Massachusetts, bar owners described children throwing rocks and climbing on top of their picnic tables without any intervention from the parents.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Brian Shurtleff, the owner of<a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/bogironbrewing.com\/\"> Bog Iron Brewing<\/a> <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/boston\/news\/norton-massachusetts-brewery-children-rules\/\">told CBS<\/a>:\u00a0&#8216;We&#8217;re trying to be kind of the neighborhood&#8217;s living room here. They also designated the lounge area and mezzanine for adults only.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">&#8216;All I could think was: We didn\u2019t build Guant\u00e1namo, we built a beer garden,&#8217; owner Jason Goldstein told\u00a0<a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/07\/14\/dining\/breweries-child-friendly-bans.html\">The New York Times.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">&#8216;And if your child crawled under there, how long were they away from you? How long were you not paying attention?
