Built in 1887, the Park Slope mansion at 842 Carroll St. was designed by architect C.P.H. Gilbert.\u00a0 <\/p>\n
It\u2019s one of three in a row designed by Gilbert and part of the Park Slope Historic District \u2014 and the only one that has retained its single-family mansion status, said listing brokers Thomas Handschiegel and Mackenzie Kyle, of Platinum Forbes Global Properties.\u00a0And, at 32 feet wide, it is one of Brooklyn\u2019s widest townhouses \u2014 far wider than the average\u00a015- to 20-foot-wide structures.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kenyon, a Harvard classmate of Theodore Roosevelt and an early supporter of Roosevelt\u2019s political career. Kenyon\u2019s company also had many government contracts, including manufacturing military uniforms for soldiers serving in WWI, according to reports.\u00a0<\/p>\n
