Giordano Dance Chicago<\/strong><\/a> will pull back the curtain on its creative process with an evening built around fresh choreography, new voices and a rare chance for audiences to connect directly with the artists.<\/p>\n

Giordano on Giordano<\/strong><\/a> takes place at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts<\/strong> on Tuesday, May 19, with performances at 6 and 8 p.m. and a 7 p.m. reception that brings guests and dancers together between shows.<\/p>\n

Hosted by Giordano Dance Chicago<\/strong>, the program shines a spotlight on the company\u2019s second ensemble, Giordano II,<\/strong> and its role in shaping the future of jazz dance. The evening will feature seven world premieres created by the dancers and artistic staff, offering a close-up look at the ideas and experimentation that fuel the company\u2019s work.<\/p>\n

The program is directed by Zach Heller,<\/strong> with new pieces choreographed by Heller, Amanda Hickey-Newcom, Adam Houston, Simon Schuh, Erina Ueda, Analysse Vance<\/strong> and Eduardo Zambrana<\/strong>. Each work reflects the artists\u2019 individual voices while staying rooted in the energy and athleticism that have defined the company for decades.<\/p>\n

Unlike a traditional theater performance, this event is designed to feel more personal. The intimate setting allows audiences to experience new choreography in its earliest stages while learning more about the creative process. Guests attending either performance are invited to the mid-evening reception, where they can meet the dancers and creative team and continue the conversation offstage.<\/p>\n

Lead sponsors Kevin McGirr<\/strong> and Tom Sinkovic<\/strong> support the evening, with the reception presented by the Giordano Dance Chicago Associate Board.<\/strong><\/p>\n
