On-ramps at Indian School Road, Colter Street and Bethany Home Road also will be closed. Drivers are encouraged to use northbound Interstate 17 to get around the closure.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"Closures or lane restrictions are scheduled for freeway improvement projects in the Phoenix...\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/4LBAN6JVWZHK3KII7SEMI4RATE.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"759\" \/>Closures or lane restrictions are scheduled for freeway improvement projects in the Phoenix area this weekend (May 1-4), according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. Drivers should allow extra travel time and use detour routes as needed for these weekend freeway restrictions:(ADOT)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">In the East Valley, westbound Loop 202 will be closed at Gilbert Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for work on a widening project. Westbound Loop 202 on-ramps at SanTan Village Parkway, Val Vista Drive and Lindsay Road also will be closed. Traffic can detour via the Gilbert Road interchange.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">On southbound Loop 101, lanes will be reduced to two lanes between Princess Drive\/Pima Road and Shea Boulevard from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for pavement improvements.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Westbound U.S. 60 will be closed overnight between Tomahawk and Crismon roads from 10 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday for pavement sealing.
