{"id":766154,"date":"2026-05-01T15:00:26","date_gmt":"2026-05-01T15:00:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/766154\/"},"modified":"2026-05-01T15:00:26","modified_gmt":"2026-05-01T15:00:26","slug":"9-year-old-boy-fatally-struck-by-school-bus-nypd-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/766154\/","title":{"rendered":"9-year-old boy fatally struck by school bus, NYPD says"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 9-year-old boy was struck and killed by a school bus in Brooklyn Friday morning, the NYPD said.<\/p>\n<p>Police said they responded to Lee Avenue and Lorimer Street in South Williamsburg just before 8:20 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Officers found the boy there unconscious and unresponsive, with head and body injuries, according to police.<\/p>\n<p>Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>A preliminary investigation found that a yellow school bus was turning left onto Lorimer Street from the avenue when it hit the boy as he was crossing the street, police said.<\/p>\n<p>The school bus operator initially left the scene before returning, the NYPD said.<\/p>\n<p>Police didn\u2019t immediately release the boy\u2019s name.
