BENICIA, Calif. (KGO) — Benicia police are investigating the shooting death of man Thursday that may have been an act of self-defense during a domestic violence attack.<\/p>\n

Officers and Benicia Fire Department personnel were sent to a home on London Circle a little after 10 p.m. after someone called to report a single gunshot, police said Friday.<\/p>\n

Once at the home, the fire crew and police officers found a man who had been shot once and who died despite efforts to keep him alive, according to police officials.<\/p>\n

The initial 911 call indicated that the shooting was in self-defense during a domestic violence attack and involved multiple family members, including a juvenile, who all live in the same home, according to police.<\/p>\n

No additional information was released by police officials, who didn’t announce an arrest.<\/p>\n
