{"id":767323,"date":"2026-05-02T03:25:12","date_gmt":"2026-05-02T03:25:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/767323\/"},"modified":"2026-05-02T03:25:12","modified_gmt":"2026-05-02T03:25:12","slug":"nbc-set-to-debut-new-wnba-spot-during-kentucky-derby","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/767323\/","title":{"rendered":"NBC set to debut new WNBA spot during Kentucky Derby"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As\u00a0part of the new WNBA media rights deal running through 2036, NBC will broadcast more than 50 WNBA regular-season and first-round playoff games\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/awfulannouncing.com\/nbc\/nbc-reveals-nba-schedule-highlights-wnba-finals-agreement.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">each season across Peacock, NBC, and USA<\/a> throughout the deal, as well as seven WNBA Conference semifinals and three WNBA Finals\u00a0series.<\/p>\n<p>The Network\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/awfulannouncing.com\/nbc\/finalizes-wnba-broadcast-team-courtside-reporters.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">coverage of the league<\/a> will feature <a href=\"https:\/\/awfulannouncing.com\/nbc\/noah-eagle-zora-stephenson-michael-grady-wnba-announcers.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a0Zora Stephenson, Noah Eagle, and Michael Grady<\/a> calling games;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/awfulannouncing.com\/nbc\/maria-taylor-lead-host-nba-wnba-coverage.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Maria Taylor<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/awfulannouncing.com\/wnba\/sue-bird-nbc-peacock-coverage.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sue Bird<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/awfulannouncing.com\/wnba\/nbc-broadcast-plans-cheryl-miller-lachina-robinson-sarah-kustok.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cheryl Miller<\/a> as a studio trio, and LaChina Robinson and Sarah Kustok as game analysts.<\/p>\n<p>The media conglomerate\u2019s first WNBA broadcast will be a May 10 Las Vegas Aces-Los Angeles Sparks game on USA Network, and it\u2019s getting ready to launch a new marketing campaign ahead of the much-anticipated tipoff.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Articles\/2026\/05\/01\/nbc-breaking-new-wnba-marketing-campaign-with-spot-during-kentucky-derby\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">According to Sports Business Journal<\/a>, NBC Sports is set to debut a new marketing spot on Saturday during the Kentucky Derby, starring Aces center A\u2019ja Wilson, Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu<b>,<\/b> and Wings guard Paige Bueckers.<\/p>\n<p>In a creative effort helmed by NBC SVP\/Sports Marketing Lyndsay Signor and her team and reminiscent of ESPN\u2019s famous \u201cThis is SportsCenter\u201d campaign, the spot features Saturday Night Live star Chloe Fineman leading the stars through a faux NBC office for their \u201cfirst day of work\u201d as they pass through pictures of some of the network\u2019s most famous female stars over the years, including Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Betty White.<\/p>\n<p>Sue Bird will also be interviewed during the Derby broadcast.
