{"id":767381,"date":"2026-05-02T04:08:16","date_gmt":"2026-05-02T04:08:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/767381\/"},"modified":"2026-05-02T04:08:16","modified_gmt":"2026-05-02T04:08:16","slug":"robot-dances-at-the-airport-gate-then-delays-southwest-flight-from-oakland-to-san-diego","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/767381\/","title":{"rendered":"Robot dances at the airport gate, then delays Southwest flight from Oakland to San Diego"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A human-like robot delayed a flight from Oakland to San Diego on Thursday and caused a stir among passengers.<\/p>\n<p>The flight arrived in San Diego International Airport about an hour late,  according to <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flightaware.com\/live\/flight\/SWA1568\/history\/20260430\/2110Z\/KOAK\/KSAN\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">data from FlightAware<\/a>, but at least those who  experienced the delay were treated to a show.<\/p>\n<p>A customer on the flight had purchased a seat for the robot, Southwest Airlines said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe device\u2019s lithium battery exceeded the maximum allowable size, so the customer was asked to remove it,\u201d the statement said. <\/p>\n<p>The robot had already been taken on board when the flight crew determined that its battery was too large and should be checked, causing a minor delay.
