{"id":768010,"date":"2026-05-02T11:00:21","date_gmt":"2026-05-02T11:00:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/768010\/"},"modified":"2026-05-02T11:00:21","modified_gmt":"2026-05-02T11:00:21","slug":"845m-bond-election-to-be-decided-by-fort-worth-voters-may-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/768010\/","title":{"rendered":"$845M bond election to be decided by Fort Worth voters May 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"&quot;byline&quot;\">by Cecilia Lenzen, Fort Worth Report <br \/>May 2, 2026<\/p>\n<p>Fort Worth voters decide May 2 whether to authorize an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fortworthtexas.gov\/departments\/the-fwlab\/2026-bond\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">$845 million bond program<\/a> designed to fund infrastructure improvements across the city.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The bond package is divided into six propositions, each appearing as a separate item on the ballot for voters to choose \u201cfor\u201d or \u201cagainst.\u201d The $845 million total is divided among the propositions as follows:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/fortworthreport.org\/2026\/04\/03\/fort-worth-roads-would-get-half-a-billion-dollars-in-upgrades-if-bond-package-passes\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Proposition A<\/a>: $511,480,700 for streets and mobility infrastructure improvements\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/fortworthreport.org\/2026\/04\/13\/open-space-parks-could-expand-if-fort-worth-voters-approve-185m-bond\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Proposition B<\/a>: $185,140,000 for park, recreation and open space acquisitions and improvements<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/fortworthreport.org\/2026\/04\/06\/4-years-after-closing-south-fort-worth-library-could-reopen-in-bond-proposal\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Proposition C<\/a>: $14,586,000 for public library improvements\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/fortworthreport.org\/2026\/04\/16\/affordable-housing-is-on-the-ballot-in-fort-worths-845m-bond-program-which-goes-to-voters-may-2\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Proposition D<\/a>: $10,000,000 for affordable housing<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/fortworthreport.org\/2026\/04\/15\/fort-worth-voters-to-consider-63-9m-for-fire-stations-new-emergency-management-center\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Proposition E<\/a>: $63,919,300 for police, fire and emergency communications facilities\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/fortworthreport.org\/2026\/04\/16\/proposed-59-8m-animal-shelter-included-in-fort-worth-bond-election\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Proposition F<\/a>: $59,874,000 for animal care and shelter improvements\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Registered voters may cast a ballot at any polling location in Tarrant County. Polls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday. Early voting was April 20-28.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sample ballots are available <a href=\"https:\/\/gisit.tarrantcounty.com\/TCVL\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>. The Fort Worth ballot also features nine proposed amendments to the city charter, including one to <a href=\"https:\/\/fortworthreport.org\/2026\/04\/19\/fort-worth-voters-take-another-swipe-may-2-at-whether-to-raise-pay-for-the-mayor-and-city-council-members\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">raise the mayor\u2019s and council\u2019s annual salaries<\/a>. Far north Fort Worth residents will also <a href=\"https:\/\/fortworthreport.org\/2026\/04\/20\/inside-the-push-for-a-business-savvy-candidate-for-north-fort-worth-city-council-seat\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">choose a new City Council member<\/a> in a special election to replace outgoing council member Alan Blaylock, who is running for state office.<\/p>\n<p>The Fort Worth Report\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/fortworthreport.org\/fort-worth-tarrant-county-voter-guide\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tarrant County Voter Guide<\/a> features candidates surveys, election dates and other need-to-know information.
