{"id":768286,"date":"2026-05-02T13:55:14","date_gmt":"2026-05-02T13:55:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/768286\/"},"modified":"2026-05-02T13:55:14","modified_gmt":"2026-05-02T13:55:14","slug":"classical-music-takes-center-stage-in-scottsdale-arts-entertainment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/768286\/","title":{"rendered":"Classical music takes center stage in Scottsdale | Arts &#038; Entertainment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Scottsdale\u2019s classical music scene will take center stage in early May as two local orchestras present performances that highlight both the traditional and evolving sides of the art form.<\/p>\n<p>The Scottsdale Philharmonic and the Scottsdale Symphonic Orchestra will each host concerts a week apart, offering audiences a mix of iconic works and thematic programming tied to the nation\u2019s 250th anniversary.<\/p>\n<p>The Scottsdale Philharmonic will perform Ludwig van Beethoven\u2019s Symphony No. 5 from, 4-6 p.m. Sunday, May 3, at La Casa de Cristo Lutheran Church, 6300 E. Bell Road, Scottsdale, launching a stretch of performances that organizers say reflects growing demand for live classical music in the Valley.<\/p>\n<p>Executive Director Joy Partridge said the orchestra\u2019s continued sellouts have prompted an expansion of its schedule, including the addition of Thursday evening performances beginning in June.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur June 28 concert will feature our 250th Independence Day celebration,\u201d said Partridge. \u201cBecause this will be an extremely popular concert, we will be performing it also on Thursday, June 25 at 7 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe continue to have sold-out performances, so we are excited to announce that we are adding a Thursday evening performance,\u201d Partridge said.<\/p>\n<p>The Philharmonic\u2019s concerts emphasize accessibility, with affordable ticket prices, free admission for students and veterans, and free livestream options.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur mission is to make classical music available to everyone,\u201d Partridge said.<\/p>\n<p>That approach will carry into upcoming programming, including a June 28 Independence Day concert tied to the nation\u2019s semiquincentennial, as well as a summer series featuring a pops program and a concert with chorale.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have created a new program called the \u2018Student Music Education Program\u2019 to expand classical music to our youth through free ticketing, live streaming, free musical instruments to those in need, and musical scholarships,\u201d said Partridge, adding she is also planning a children\u2019s concert program.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur ability to share beautiful music relies entirely on the generosity of individual donors and corporate sponsors,\u201d explains Partridge. \u201cSince ticket sales cover only one-third of concert costs, we need the unwavering support and dedication of our donors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Information\/tickets: <a href=\"http:\/\/scottsdalephilharmonic.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">scottsdalephilharmonic.com<\/a> or call 480-951-6077.<\/p>\n<p>A week later, the Scottsdale Symphonic Orchestra will conclude its season with a program designed to reflect the broader American story.<\/p>\n<p>The 4 p.m. May 10 concert, titled \u201cDreams of Freedom: The American Experience,\u201d will be held at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts and serves as the finale to the orchestra\u2019s America250-themed season.
