{"id":76839,"date":"2025-07-20T01:53:18","date_gmt":"2025-07-20T01:53:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/76839\/"},"modified":"2025-07-20T01:53:18","modified_gmt":"2025-07-20T01:53:18","slug":"red-bull-flugtag-makes-late-summer-return-to-north-texas-nbc-5-dallas-fort-worth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/76839\/","title":{"rendered":"Red Bull Flugtag makes late summer return to North Texas \u2013 NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For the first time in 12 years, Red Bull is bringing Flugtag back to North Texas.<\/p>\n<p>Flugtag, German for &#8220;flight day,&#8221; is an annual event in which &#8220;fearless flyers&#8221; launch their &#8220;handmade, human-powered&#8221; aircraft off a ramp in the hope of sailing to a gentle descent into the water below.<\/p>\n<p>Oftentimes, the opposite happens despite the hundreds of hours teams put into creating their innovative aircraft.<\/p>\n<p>This year, the event returns to Lake Carolyn in Las Colinas. Red Bull held Flugtag <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcdfw.com\/news\/local\/big-tex-takes-a-plunge-in-irving\/1960655\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">at the same lake in 2013<\/a> and will revisit it on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.redbull.com\/us-en\/events\/red-bull-flugtag-dfw-usa-2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Saturday, Sept. 13<\/a>, to judge this year&#8217;s entries on flight distance, originality and showmanship.<\/p>\n<p>Red Bull said about 30 teams have registered so far, including DIY daredevils, pro-aviation engineers, veteran Marines, and even a squad of groomsmen. They expect about 30,000 people of all ages to show up to see who tumbles directly into the lake or who glides to victory.<\/p>\n<p>Succeed or fail, each team&#8217;s defining moment lasts only seconds and is bound to bring a few laughs.<\/p>\n<p>Admission is free, though VIP packages are available for $75 per person. There will also be an all-ages Fan Zone, an F-1 display, a pop-up shop, food trucks and water refill stations.<\/p>\n<p>If you cannot attend in person, the event will also be streamed on Atmosphere TV beginning at about noon.
