{"id":76864,"date":"2025-07-20T02:06:12","date_gmt":"2025-07-20T02:06:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/76864\/"},"modified":"2025-07-20T02:06:12","modified_gmt":"2025-07-20T02:06:12","slug":"us-news-and-world-report-ranks-chicago-suburbs-among-safest-places-to-live-nbc-chicago","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/76864\/","title":{"rendered":"US News and World Report ranks Chicago suburbs among safest places to live \u2013 NBC Chicago"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new report on the safest cities in America has ranked four Illinois communities among the top.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. News and World Report recently released its list of the 25 Safest Places to Live in the U.S. in 2025-2026, which were determined based on murder and property crime rates per 100,000 people,\u00a0according to the website.<\/p>\n<p>Crime rate can be one of the deciding factors of where families settle down, the publication stated.<\/p>\n<p>Johns Creek, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta, clinched the top spot, followed by Centreville, Virginia and Newton, Massachusetts.<\/p>\n<p>When it comes to the Midwest, Rochester Hills, Michigan, was the highest ranked &#8211; at No. 4. Fishers, Indiana, meanwhile, landed at sixth, followed by one of its neighboring communities &#8211; Carmel, Indiana, at seven.<\/p>\n<p>At No. 12, the first Illinois community to make the list was Arlington Heights, which the website also deemed the Best Place to Live in Illinois.<\/p>\n<p>Buffalo Grove, the state&#8217;s second best place to live, according to U.S. News and World Report, claimed the 18th spot on the list, followed by Naperville and Palatine, which tied for 19th.<\/p>\n<p>Naperville and Palatine were ranked the third and fourth among the best places to live in Illinois, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Curious which other U.S. communities made the cut?
