{"id":768797,"date":"2026-05-02T19:10:47","date_gmt":"2026-05-02T19:10:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/768797\/"},"modified":"2026-05-02T19:10:47","modified_gmt":"2026-05-02T19:10:47","slug":"chicago-park-district-installs-gates-at-10-beaches-nbc-chicago","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/768797\/","title":{"rendered":"Chicago Park District installs gates at 10 beaches \u2013 NBC Chicago"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Chicagoans heading to the lakefront this weekend &#8211; or anytime soon &#8211; might notice a change.<\/p>\n<p>Automatic gates have been installed at 10 beaches, the Chicago Park District confirmed to NBC Chicago.<\/p>\n<p>Paying to park at the beach isn&#8217;t new, but the gates mark a renewed push to enforce it. <\/p>\n<p>The park district said it provided notice to local park advisory councils and aldermen prior to the changes, and signage was posted at each affected lot.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The recent changes, including an automated gate system, simply modernize how payment is managed and enforced,&#8221; the Chicago Park District stated. &#8221; Importantly, parking rates have not increased as a result of these upgrades.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Under the new policy, a 15-minute grace period is offered until charges start.
