The New Orleans Saints shocked plenty of people earlier this year when they selected Tyler Shough with the 40th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.<\/p>\n

Shough was coming off a nice season with Louisville where he\u00a0threw for 3,195 yards with 23 touchdowns and six interceptions. However, his injury history at Oregon and Texas Tech was a bit concerning.\u00a0He suffered a broken collarbone twice as well as a fractured left fibula.<\/p>\n

Despite Shough’s age (26) and injury history,\u00a0Saints head coach Kellen Moore felt really confident about the team’s second-round selection.<\/p>\n

“We just felt like it was a really good player,” Moore said. “Obviously we felt good about Tyler through this process and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with ever investing in the quarterback room. We feel like there’s a lot of depth in there now as we go through this process and let’s let it play out.”<\/p>\n

Well, the Saints showed Shough how they really feel about him this Saturday.<\/p>\n

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, <\/a>the Saints and Shough have reached an agreement on\u00a0a fully-guaranteed $10.795 million contract. The former Louisville quarterback’s contract\u00a0includes annual roster bonus structure, so he’ll receive the majority of his money during the\u00a0first week of training camp.<\/p>\n

Shough’s wife,\u00a0Jordan, has to be pumped up about this news. She went viral during this year’s NFL Draft because of her epic celebration.<\/p>\n

Jordan gained thousands of followers on Instagram this past spring because of her brief appearance on ESPN. As of this writing, she’s up to 7,895 followers.<\/p>\n

Back in April, the happy couple shared their one-year wedding anniversary.<\/p>\n

“Year One!! This year has been about as insane as they come! The vows I said a year ago have never been more true!! A lifetime will never be enough,” Jordan wrote for her caption.<\/p>\n

Only time will tell if the New Orleans community fully embraces the Shough family.<\/p>\n

Shough is expected to\u00a0compete against Jake Haener and Spencer Rattler in training camp.<\/p>\n

The Saints will begin their preseason on Aug. 10 against the Los Angeles Chargers.<\/p>\n
