A fire possibly caused by fireworks ignited in grass in the transition between two downtown Los Angeles freeways Saturday and was threatening an apartment building in the area.<\/p>\n
The fire was reported at 5:08 p.m. Saturday in grass on the right shoulder of the transition from the northbound Hollywood Freeway and the northbound Harbor Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.<\/p>\n
Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters were working to stop the fire, and the transition road was shut down to help them work safely, LAFD spokeswoman Jennifer Middleton said.<\/p>\n
