Escondido police were searching Saturday for a 76-year- old man with dementia who went missing from their city.<\/p>\n
Douglas Govan was last seen about 1:50 a.m. Saturday walking in the area of Centre City Parkway and Mission Avenue, according to the Escondido Police Department.<\/p>\n
In addition to suffering from dementia, Govan needs medication to treat a recent stroke, police said.<\/p>\n
Govan has communication difficulties and can only respond with “yes” or “no” to questions, police said. He is not from Escondido, nor is he familiar with the area.<\/p>\n
Govan is 5 feet, 9 inches tall, 165 pounds, with short gray hair and blue eyes, last seen wearing a light-green long-sleeved quarter-zip sweatshirt, blue jeans and black sneakers.<\/p>\n
