A standoff in Beverly Hills prompted a large law enforcement response on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n
The Beverly Hills Police Department said it received an Automated License Plate Recognition alert about a felony vehicle at around 1:30 p.m. and located the pick-up truck near San Vicente and Beverly boulevards.<\/p>\n
A pursuit, which started after officers tried conducting a traffic stop, ended after the truck collided with another vehicle near Burton Way and Robertson Boulevard, according to police.<\/p>\n
As of 5 p.m., officers were still trying to negotiate with the people inside the suspect vehicle to come out, the BHPD said. Video from the scene shows a SWAT team, fire department personnel and other law enforcement responding.<\/p>\n
Several streets were closed due to the activity, and police were urging drivers and residents to avoid the area.<\/p>\n
The investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n
