DENVER (May 3, 2026) \u2013 Houston Dynamo 2<\/strong>\u00a0keeps their unbeaten streak alive following a 3-1 road victory versus Colorado Rapids 2 earlier this evening. The match was highlighted by three goal scorers, including Homegrown midfielder\u00a0Matthew<\/strong>\u00a0Arana<\/strong>, defender\u00a0Reese<\/strong>\u00a0Miller<\/strong>, who scored his first professional goal, and midfielder\u00a0Gilberto<\/strong>\u00a0Rivera<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Notably, tonight\u2019s victory marks Houston\u2019s seventh in their last eight matches. The team is now tied for first in the Western Conference standings with 23 points and a 7-0-1 (WLD) record, and leads the league with the fewest goal conceded in open play (two) in 2026.<\/p>\n

Dynamo 2 took the lead in the 26th\u00a0minute after Arana capitalized on a Rapids 2 mistake. The youngster intercepted the ball from Colorado\u2019s backline at the top of the box and chipped it over Zack Campagnolo, who came running off his line, finding the back of the net for his second goal of the season.<\/p>\n

Miller doubled Houston\u2019s lead in first half stoppage time, firing a right-footed shot from inside the box into the bottom left corner, following a pass from defender\u00a0Vinicius<\/strong>\u00a0Silva<\/strong>. The play also marked Silva\u2019s second assist of the season.<\/p>\n

Dynamo 2 extended their lead in the 52nd\u00a0minute when Rivera converted Houston\u2019s third goal of the night from the penalty spot. The penalty was awarded after a Colorado defender was deemed to have fouled forward\u00a0Jahmani \u201cJJ\u201d Bell<\/strong>\u00a0inside the box.<\/p>\n

Colorado pulled one back in the 53rd\u00a0minute when Alex Harris found the bottom right corner from outside the box.<\/p>\n

Notably, Houston recorded 10 shots in the first 15 minutes of the match, including four on target. Six different players registered a shot in that span, with Rivera firing two shots of his own on target.<\/p>\n

Dos had their first dangerous chance early in the match after attacker\u00a0Samir<\/strong>\u00a0Mohammad<\/strong>\u00a0intercepted a Colorado pass inside the box and chipped the ball over Zack Campagnolo, but his shot hit the crossbar.<\/p>\n

Attacker\u00a0Mattheo<\/strong>\u00a0Dimareli<\/strong>\u00a0put a shot on target in the fourth minute with a free kick from 35 yards out that forced a diving saving from the Colorado goalkeeper.<\/p>\n

Rivera tried his chances from deep in the 12th\u00a0minute with a long-range effort towards the bottom left corner that forced another diving save from Campagnolo.<\/p>\n

Another scoring opportunity came in the 20th\u00a0minute when Miller delivered a low cross to forward Bell, whose right-footed shot from the middle of the box was blocked away by Campagnolo for a Dynamo 2 corner.<\/p>\n

Rapids 2 went down to 10 men in the 44th\u00a0minute when Charlie Harper fouled Arana on a goal scoring opportunity.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Goalkeeper\u00a0Pedro<\/strong>\u00a0Cruz<\/strong>\u00a0was called into action in the 61st\u00a0minute, safely securing a long-distance shot from Kimani Stewart-Baynes.<\/p>\n
