The Seminoles defeated the Eagles, 8-0.<\/p>\n<p>With the win, FSU (46-8, 21-3 ACC) earned the ACC regular-season championship. FSU earns back-to-back ACC regular-season titles. It marks FSU&#8217;s 19th ACC regular-season title.\u00a0Florida State&#8217;s 38 combined ACC Championships (19 regular season, 19 tournament)\u00a0are the most of any program in the country. Boston College finishes the regular season at 13-38 (3-21 ACC).<\/p>\n<p>FSU earned the No. 1 seed in this week&#8217;s ACC Tournament in Charlottesville, Virginia. The Seminoles will open play Thursday in the quarterfinals\u00a0against the winner of the game between No. 8 seed\u00a0<strong>Notre Dame<\/strong>\u00a0and No. 9 seed\u00a0<strong>Georgia Tech\u00a0<\/strong>at 11 a.m. on ACC Network.<\/p>\n<p>The Irish and Yellow Jackets\u00a0will meet\u00a0Wednesday at 11 a.m. on ACC Network. FSU swept both teams during the regular season, hosting Notre Dame in Tallahassee and traveling to Atlanta to face Georgia Tech. The full bracket can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/theacc.com\/feature\/softball-championship\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In Sunday&#8217;s game, FSU jumped\u00a0ahead early and\u00a0continued to add on.<\/p>\n<p>The Seminoles scored three runs in the first inning. Third baseman <strong>Jaysoni Beachum<\/strong> doubled to left field and advanced to third on a productive out. Catcher <strong>Anna Hinde<\/strong> followed with an RBI single to score Beachum. Right fielder <strong>Bella Ruggiero<\/strong> then walked, moving Hinde to second. Center fielder <strong>Kennedy Harp<\/strong> singled through the left side, scoring Hinde, and designated player <strong>Shelby McKenzie<\/strong> added another RBI single to bring home Ruggiero.<\/p>\n<p>FSU extended its lead to 5-0 in the second inning. Shortstop <strong>Isa Torres<\/strong> led off with a single and moved to second on a walk by Beachum. Left fielder <strong>Ashtyn Danley<\/strong> delivered an RBI single, scoring Torres and advancing Beachum to third. Hinde later fouled out, but Beachum tagged and scored.<\/p>\n<p>The lead became 7-0 in the fourth inning. With two runners in scoring position and no outs, Danley hit a sacrifice fly to score Torres from third. McKenzie worked a bases-loaded walk to score Beachum from third for the second run\u00a0in the inning.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>FSU added their final run of the game in the top of the seventh inning when Torres singled, went first-to-third on an error that allowed Beachum to reach, and then came home to score when Danley put one in play.<\/p>\n<p>FSU finished with eight runs on 10 hits, including two doubles. The Seminoles also walked eight times, while striking out just once. FSU did strand 12 on the base paths.<\/p>\n<p>The Eagles didn&#8217;t get their first hit until there were two outs in the bottom of the fourth. They worked a walk in the sixth inning, which was the first walk issued by FSU pitching on the weekend. They added their second hit of the game to open the bottom of the seventh.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bella Dimitrijevic<\/strong> started in the circle for FSU, pitching two innings while facing the minimum and striking out one. She threw 24 pitches, 16 for strikes. <strong>Jazzy Francik<\/strong> entered in relief to begin the third inning. She threw the final five innnings. She allowed\u00a0two hits, walked one, and struck out three. She threw\u00a057 pitches,\u00a036 of which were strikes.\u00a0She\u00a0earned the win and moved to 20-2 on the season.<\/p>\n<p>The Seminoles\u00a0are\u00a052-4 all-time against Boston College.
