{"id":772550,"date":"2026-05-04T12:26:55","date_gmt":"2026-05-04T12:26:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/772550\/"},"modified":"2026-05-04T12:26:55","modified_gmt":"2026-05-04T12:26:55","slug":"dallas-records-first-reported-may-homicide-on-mckinney-avenue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/772550\/","title":{"rendered":"Dallas Records First Reported May Homicide On McKinney Avenue"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n                                    Crime scene concept with a firearm and evidence markers \/ high contrast image | Image by Fer Gregory\/Shutterstock                                <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"365\" data-end=\"508\">A 35-year-old man died early Sunday after he was shot on McKinney Avenue, marking the first homicide publicly reported by Dallas police in May.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"510\" data-end=\"630\">Dallas police <a href=\"https:\/\/dpdbeat.com\/2026\/05\/03\/homicide-at-2700-mckinney-avenue\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">said<\/a> officers responded to a shooting call around 2:50 a.m. on May 3 in the 2700 block of McKinney Avenue.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"632\" data-end=\"779\">The preliminary investigation found that Jeronimo Avila, 35, was shot by an unknown suspect, police said. The suspect fled before officers arrived.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"781\" data-end=\"874\">Avila was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after the shooting.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"876\" data-end=\"964\">DPD said the investigation remains ongoing and is documented under case No. 062828-2026.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"966\" data-end=\"1095\">Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Detective R.
