Alex Cooper and husband Matt Kaplan are allegedly dealing with \u201ca lot of tension\u201d in their marriage. <\/p>\n
A source told the Daily Mail<\/a> in a story published Sunday that the couple isn\u2019t sleeping in the same bedroom at the moment.<\/p>\n According to the insider, the pair\u2019s \u201ctension\u201d was mounting even before Kaplan was accused of berating and threatening the staff<\/a> at his and Cooper\u2019s production company, Unwell Network, in a bombshell Bloomberg report<\/a> last month.<\/p>\n A source told the Daily Mail that Alex Cooper and husband Matt Kaplan (pictured above at Netflix\u2019s \u201cJingle Bell Heist\u201d LA screening in November 2025) are dealing with \u201ca lot of tension\u201d in their marriage. Getty Images<\/p>\n \u201cMatt fully courted Alex and was so sweet with her in the beginning,\u201d the source explained. \u201cOnce they moved in together, that\u2019s when things changed.\u201d<\/p>\n Cooper, 31, and Kaplan, 42, first met during a Zoom call in 2020 and got engaged<\/a>\u00a0in March 2023.<\/p>\n That same year, the pair co-founded their Trending media company and its Unwell Network subsidiary.<\/p>\n Cooper and Kaplan \u2014 who is the founder and CEO of Ace Entertainment\u00a0\u2014\u00a0tied the knot<\/a>\u00a0in Mexico in April 2024.<\/p>\n The source alleged that once Cooper and Kaplan (seen above at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards) moved in together, \u201cthings changed.\u201d Kevin Mazur\/Getty Images<\/p>\n The couple (seen kissing above) started dating in 2020, got engaged in 2023, and got married in 2024. alexandracooper\/Instagram<\/p>\n The Daily Mail source claimed that Cooper and Kaplan\u2019s decision to combine their businesses so early in their relationship was seen as a red flag by their inner circle.<\/p>\n \u201cThose close to Alex wondered why she got engaged so quickly before the Unwell deal was done,\u201d the insider said. \u201cNow they see it. Matt is too intertwined with Unwell.\u201d<\/p>\n Furthermore, the source alleged that in their business dynamic, Kaplan calls the shots over the \u201cCall Her Daddy\u201d host.<\/p>\n \u201cMatt pushes her to do things in her business,\u201d the source explained. \u201cShe doesn\u2019t have a manager. Matt is always in the room. Everything goes through Matt.\u201d<\/p>\n The Daily Mail source claimed that Kaplan and Cooper\u2019s inner circle believe Kaplan \u201cis too intertwined\u201d with the couple\u2019s production company, Unwell Network. She wants to control the narrative, always. She is insecure and cutthroat all in one.
