Dr. Peter Stanley Brown<\/a>, 73, died on April 24, 2026, in Graham.\u00a0<\/p>\n Brown, known as Pete to his friends, was born on Sept. 23, 1952, in Dallas to Dr. Bobby and Sara Brown. He grew up in Fort Worth and graduated from Arlington Heights High School in 1971, received his bachelor\u2019s degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and his medical degree from Tulane Medical School.<\/p>\n His father was a Fort Worth cardiologist who had been a four-time World Series champion with the New York Yankees.\u00a0<\/p>\n After Brown married Sidney Cozby in 1981, they moved to Graham where he began his career in family medicine.\u00a0<\/p>\n Pete Geren, president and CEO of the nonprofit Sid W. Richardson Foundation, was a lifelong friend.\u00a0<\/p>\n Geren said Brown knew from an early age he wanted to be a small-town doctor.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cAfter he finished his residency at John Peter Smith, he and his wife, Sidney, moved to Graham, and he became the beloved small-town doctor that he always had wanted to be,\u201d Geren said.\u00a0<\/p>\n He said Brown loved the outdoors, particularly squirrel hunting with his dogs.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cHe was a dear friend, a devoted friend to so many,\u201d Geren said. \u201cHis loss leaves a big hole in the lives of so many of us.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n In a Facebook post, the Young County Family Clinic<\/a>, where Brown practiced for many years, said he \u201cleaves behind generations of patients who trusted him with their care, and we are truly grateful for the legacy he leaves behind.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n Brown is survived by his wife; his four children and their spouses, Geren and Laura, Robert and Ellie, Jeffrey and Amy, and Rebecca and Lawson; and his 13 grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Beverley Dale and husband Larry and Kaydee Bailey and husband Bill.\u00a0<\/p>\n A celebration of life was held April 30 at the First Presbyterian Church in Graham.\u00a0<\/p>\n The family requested donations be made to Graham Regional Medical Center<\/a> or Senior Citizens Center<\/a> of Graham.<\/p>\n
