\nJackson Chirello<\/a>: CUSA Hitter of the Week\u00a0<\/strong>
\nJackson Chirello<\/a> was named Conference USA Hitter of the Week after a standout week at the plate, going 6-for-15 (.400) with four home runs, nine RBIs and six runs scored.\u00a0Chirello\u00a0became the first Owl to earn a weekly award this season and the third in program history to be named CUSA Hitter of the Week, joining Wesley Alig<\/a> and Nate Anderson<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\nKennesaw State has played one of the nation’s most challenging schedules,\u00a0having played 10 games against ranked foes. The Owls enter with the\u00a070th-toughest schedule in the country and the\u00a018th-ranked non-conference strength of schedule.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\nAfter going hitless over an 11-game stretch from Feb. 22 to March 14 (0-for-21), Shamaar McDuffie<\/a> broke through with a three-hit game against Georgia Southern on March 17. Since then, he\u00a0is\u00a0hitting .325\u00a0(27-for-83) over his last 26\u00a0games.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\nThe Black and Gold have turned 43\u00a0double plays this season, ranking\u00a013th\u00a0in the nation and\u00a0first\u00a0in Conference USA. KSU’s\u00a00.98\u00a0double plays per game leads the conference and ranks\u00a011th\u00a0nationally.\u00a0<\/p>\n
