The horizon glows with orange light, and a single illuminated tent sits among the snow in the foreground.\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" class=\"size-large wp-image-852784\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Travel photography blog Capture the Atlas has announced the winners of its annual <a href=\"https:\/\/capturetheatlas.com\/milky-way-photographer-of-the-year\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"follow external noopener nofollow\">Milky Way Photographer of the Year competition<\/a> which features 25 spectacular photos of the night sky. <\/p>\n<p>The 2026 edition of the competition \u2014 which is now in its ninth year \u2014 received over 6,500 submissions, once again setting a record for the highest number in the project\u2019s history, with selected photographers representing 15 nationalities. <\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s collection features images captured across 12 countries and regions, including New Zealand, Argentina, Spain, Chile, France, the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, Poland, Italy, Mexico, and Botswana.<\/p>\n<p> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Celestial-Light-Over-Sea-Cliffs_-Anthony-Lopez-533x800.jpg\" alt=\"Rocky cliffs overlook a calm sea under a vibrant night sky filled with stars and the Milky Way.
