Emmerdale has shared a first look at Dr Caitlin Todd’s next move as her bullying of Jacob Sugden<\/a> continues. As part of an ongoing issue-led storyline, the ITV soap<\/a> has seen the student bullied and manipulated by his boss at the hospital.<\/p>\n

Wednesday’s (6 May) episode sees Jacob pushing a pram with baby Leyla in while out and about in the village. With Dr Todd now living locally, she spots Jacob and comes over to him, taunting him about the fact that he is on paternity leave.<\/p>\n

During their interaction, Dr Todd tells Jacob that his colleague Richard is “shining” in his absence. Before heading off, Dr Todd says: “You do have choices, though, Jacob. You get back to work, or you stay at home wondering which teat is best to put your baby on.”<\/p>\n

The conversation leaves Jacob with an uneasy feeling, and he is unhappy with her attitude towards him. Despite the pair recently agreeing on a fresh start, this clip, which can be viewed below, shows that Jacob’s problems with Dr Todd are likely to continue.<\/p>\n

In this week’s scenes, Jacob’s manipulative boss will frame him <\/a>after he makes a formal complaint against her, with the schemer maliciously setting him up to look like the villain of the story.<\/p>\n

Speaking about his future at the hospital, Joe-Warren Plant, who plays Jacob, recently told us<\/a>: “Things are kind of boiling over for him. But this is the career that he wanted and what Leyla wanted him to do – she was so extremely proud of him.<\/p>\n

“At the moment, that’s the one thing that’s stuck in his mind. He’s like: ‘I can’t give up. This is what I wanted. This is how I prove to myself and everybody around me that I’m actually strong and capable’. Jacob’s a lot of things, but I don’t think he’s a quitter.”<\/p>\n

“At this moment, I think he’s just going to ride with it. He always tries to deal with it, even though there isn’t anything wrong in saying: ‘This is enough for me. I can’t do this anymore’. But he gets into worse positions because he’s trying to fight it,” added the actor.<\/p>\n

Emmerdale<\/strong> airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on <\/strong>ITVX<\/strong><\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n
