{"id":774220,"date":"2026-05-05T05:37:14","date_gmt":"2026-05-05T05:37:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/774220\/"},"modified":"2026-05-05T05:37:14","modified_gmt":"2026-05-05T05:37:14","slug":"chicago-white-sox-munetaka-murakami-homers-again-in-6-0-win","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/774220\/","title":{"rendered":"Chicago White Sox: Munetaka Murakami homers again in 6-0 win"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ANAHEIM, Calif. \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chicagotribune.com\/2026\/05\/01\/munetaka-murakami-chicago-white-sox-numbers\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Munetaka Murakami<\/a> and Miguel Vargas hit back-to-back home runs in the fourth inning on Monday, leading the Chicago White Sox to a 6-0 victory against the Los Angeles Angels in front of 26,262 at Angel Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>Murakami matched Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees for the major-league lead with his 14th home run, a two-run blast to center field against Angels starter Jos\u00e9 Soriano.<\/p>\n<p>Vargas followed with a home run to right-center, his seventh of the season.<\/p>\n<p>It was the third time this year the Sox have hit back-to-back home runs, and Murakami has been involved in all three. Murakami, Vargas and Colson Montgomery hit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chicagotribune.com\/2026\/04\/22\/chicago-white-sox-arizona-diamondbacks-three-home-runs\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">three home runs in a row on April 21<\/a> at Arizona. Murakami and Montgomery went back-to-back on April 27 against the Angels at Rate Field.<\/p>\n<p>Monday was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chicagotribune.com\/2026\/04\/28\/chicago-white-sox-munetaka-murakami-draw\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">more of the same from Murakami<\/a>, who added his first career double in the sixth and a single in the eighth.<\/p>\n<p>Sox starter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chicagotribune.com\/2026\/05\/04\/chicago-white-sox-pitchers-noah-schultz\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Davis Martin<\/a> also had another dominant outing Monday.\u00a0The right-hander allowed five hits in seven scoreless innings, lowering his ERA to 1.64. The first two batters, Sam Antonacci and Murakami, walked.<\/p>\n<p>Two strikeouts followed, but Chase Meidroth came through with an RBI single to center. Andrew Benintendi followed with another run-scoring single, making it 2-0. Benintendi finished with four singles.<\/p>\n<p>Antonacci singled with one out in the fourth. Murakami followed with the 429-foot, two-run home run.
